Exercise, Yoga and Qi Gong are held in BCAK’s multi-purpose room at 110-650 Dalton Ave. The entrance is at the west end of the building. Please enter through the side door.
Morning exercise classes are open to breast cancer survivors with a current paid up BCAK membership, evening classes are open to all members. To become a member please, visit our Membership Page.
Participation is for survivors first. Not only are classes for fitness but also a support group for those affected by breast cancer. Registration for classes is required as we have limited space and, only those registered will be notified of any last minute cancellations due to weather or illness.

QiGong
Qi Gong (pronounced Chi gong) is a practice of aligning breath, movement and awareness for exercise, healing and meditation. With roots in Chinese medicine, martial arts and philosophy, Qi Gong is traditionally viewed as a practice to cultivate and balance Qi (chi), which can be translated as “intrinsic life energy”. Typically, Qi Gong practice involves rhythmic breathing coordinated with slow, stylized repetition of fluid movement.
The goal is a calm state with visualization of guiding Qi through the body. No special clothing or equipment is required.
Classes
Monday and Wednesday with Trish Blyth. Open to all members

Yoga
Yoga is a practice that combines stretching, controlled breathing and relaxation. It helps to lower blood pressure, improve heart function, reduce stress and calm body, mind and spirit. Yoga is one of the only approaches to health that assists in keeping your body healthy, strong, and flexible while simultaneously providing mental clarity and emotional well-being. Available to any level of experience, we combine ancient tradition with innovation. If you come, breathe, and try your best, you’ll notice immediate benefits.

Swimming is a wonderful and beneficial exercise for breast cancer survivors and we meet every Thursday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
At the moment we are only allowed 10 in the pool maximum but we hope, when Covid regulations for gyms and sports are lifted, that we might be able to squeeze a few more in each class.
