breast cancer action fundraising and volunteering

Why Volunteer For Breast Cancer Action Kingston?

At BCAK we are doing our part to enrich the lives of those with breast cancer and raise funds for breast cancer research. You can help us reach our goals! You will meet an amazing group of people, make lasting friendships and you will be guaranteed a lot of laughs. You will acquire new skills! As Mahatma Gandhi said, “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” Maybe you will discover that you have a knack for fundraising or would like to lead a support group or coordinate one of our programs. It is never too late to learn and you will be bringing fresh ideas to this dedicated group. Kick up your energy! Volunteering can energize people. The energy and sense of fulfillment can carry over to a work situation and sometimes helps to relieve tensions and foster new perspectives for old situations.

What we Do

BCAK volunteers are always kept busy helping out where needed during the year. Various business organizations choose BCAK as their charity of choice in the Kingston and area community which often require volunteer help. Our volunteers are called to assist with the many jobs needed to help run an event or fundraiser smoothly, both before, during and afterwards. We also use our volunteers to help spread awareness of our organization at community events, health fairs, and the like.

Our events include:  BCAK’s Annual Walk/Run; International Women’s Day events and fundraisers, BCAK’s Annual “Share the Care” Golf Tournament; and the Annual Taylor Automall “Drive for a Cause”.

Without our volunteers BCAK would not exist and their hard work and dedication allows visibility and awareness of BCAK in the community and also promotion of the programs and services we provide. The funds raised are used to assist the women, men and families affected by breast cancer.
