Financial Support Program
BCAK receives many requests during the year for direct client financial support. Besides the greater Kingston area, our coverage includes those areas from which patients receive treatment at the Cancer Centre, so it stretches as far as Trenton in the west, Cornwall in the east and points north as far as Sharbot Lake, Perth and Westport.
Facing Challenges in your Financial Life?
Breast Cancer Action Kingston offers financial support to help those living with and/or receiving treatment within the South East LHIN coverage area with the following kinds of things. Applicants are expected to canvas other sources of funds available in the community as well as support from BCAK.
Lymphedema Financial Support
Breast Cancer Action Kingston offers financial support for Lymphedema thanks to a generous grant from the Community Foundation of Kingston and Area (CFKA).
Breast Cancer Action Kingston offers Financial Assistance in a Number of Ways
Wigs, Prosthesis, Bras & Swimwear Bank
(rejuvenated and free)
All of the above are donated after being cleaned, styled, fitted and adjusted to clients’ needs and likings by our staff (free of charge).
A donation means a lot to a ‘recipient’. They are in an unfortunate financial position in life compounded by their health problems. These items help them to fit into society and everyday life a little better therefore making it easier for them to ‘blend in’. They also give them more self-confidence which helps to fight their health issues.
On behalf of the recipients, we would like to thank very much the people who generously donated their items. The bank can always use more.
